    Star Trek: Phase II

Gina and I have been asked to join the cast of Star Trek: Phase II and we are very excited to be involved.
We are shooting in early June but we are going to try and keep the summer Pool Party on June 18th.

Put on Star Trek: TOS uniforms and play Star Fleet officers on full classic Star Trek sets you say?

    . . .
Why yes, I think I can do that!

    GREEN LANTERN TRAILER!!!!

Okay, okay, I confess the all the capital letters were just to get my buddy Patrick excited and it's a fan made trailer with footage and dialog stolen and worked over from just about everywhere, but it's still fun.

    U.S.S. Integrity NCC-2112 - Reboot

We are getting ready to relaunch the ship.

This time it will be different and a bit of an experiment.
This time there will be no dues, newsletter or monthly meetings.
We will have the occasional away missions to conventions, museums, renaissance fairs and so on (but to be fair Gina and I never really stopped doing any of that).
This time we will be writing an on going storyline that you can follow (on our new BLOG, Facebook group and Twitter account's) with the characters on the ship getting into (and hopefully out of) various scrapes.
Any real time role playing will have to wait for some kind of acceptable interface.
If you want to see your character in the logs; send me an email with a character name, Star Trek race (Human, Vulcan, etc.) age, desired section (Sciences, Operations, Bartender, Etc), desired rank (no promises) and as much or as little detail as you feel you need. Do not feel limited to whatever you had before, consider this a chance to start over.
Finally, do not worry about the time line or the changes from most recent movie (We got that!). The setting is still a Galaxy Class Starship and Captain Logan is still in Command. Everything that has gone before will serve as back story.

    Farpoint 09

Just a quick note here on some of the details. We saw "Trenches", which was really good and I felt left the audience wanting more. We caught up on all the latest Science Fiction and Fantasy movie news and upcoming projects. We bought some stuff that's easy to find at conventions. Gina met Alan Tudyk and got an autographed "3:10 to Yuma" tee shirt as a gift from him. We spent some nice time with a lot of friends and very much enjoyed the new hotel.
All in all another successful mission.

    PA Renaissance Festival

We spent the whole weekend at the PA fair this past weekend. Jess and Ricky joined us for Saturday. Gina and I got a room at a local Hotel and stayed for both days.  We picked up some new costume pieces and much needed supplies for the rest of the year. Here are a couple of shots in no particular order.

Gina looking quite the sexy pirate.

Here is my new friend Alisa of the Silk Road Gypsies who tells me she has no formal training.
If you ever see them play, you will understand my confusion on this point.

First some drinking and then some pillaging with the crew of The Intruder.

    Don't ask.

    Shore Leave

Just a couple of quick notes here from Shore Leave:
As always happens at these events the space time continuum broke down, lurched from one dimension to another, rolled around on the floor a bit, then settled down, had a drink and finally righted itself by midday Sunday. Between Friday night and Sunday however much fun was had by most.

A Romulan Commander: "What the hell is she drinking?" Gina whispered.
"With Romulans," I replied quietly, "it's best not to ask."

Benjamin Franklin showed up for a bit. On meeting Gina and realizing when he was, he was heard to lament: "Ah, to be 170 again."

Barbarella started disputing the bar bill, and things looked dicey, but local station law man O'Niel showed up and quickly set things right.

Dinner with Klingons - "Vegetables are not food! Vegetables are what food eats!" he declared.
"Relax," I said, "try the Salmon. It taste just like wild Targ."

    Halloween

Here are a few quick shots from our Halloween around here. That's Doug A. in my Superman costume and me as a Sandman from Logan's Run. Gina Looks so good in that Jessica costume. This picture does not do Gina or the costume justice at all. Am I Francis from the movie, or am I Logan from the TV show? The answer is . . . it makes no difference at all, because when I wore the costume to work today, out of the entire company only two or three other employees knew what a Sandman was or had ever even heard of Logan's Run . . . dammit.

    Snake and Greg Hastings

Here is a shot from this past weekend. That's me as Snake and Greg Hastings.
I had a really good time and I have to say that I was impressed by mister Hastings positive attitude and kindness. The guy just seeps positive energy, plus (as you might expect) he's a really excellent Paintball player. I ran along with him during one of the scenario sessions and I learned a lot just doing that. Also while everyone else was focused on Paintball, I was able to focus on the scenario and I wound up as the guy with the suitcase. So we ended up with the actual guy who was dressed as Snake Plissken running around the Paintball field with the suitcase.
Much fun was had by all.

    Lakewood Renaissance '07

Just a couple of quick pictures here.

We took the grand kids on Saturday.
    They had a great time
but they wore us out pretty quickly.

On Sunday though we went back for more and stopped in for some shopping.

Next weekend we're headed to Maryland Renaissance Festival for
    Pirate weekend.
