Maryland Renaissance Festival 08 Final Day

This past Sunday we made a day of it down at the Ye Old Revel Grove.
Here are just a few quick shots. Patrick was also with us but I don't have any good group shots yet. I still have to check Gina's Camera and other are sending me some as well, however these certainly give you the gist.

    Some call him "Pete".

    This photo also by Jess.

It was a brisk day, and got downright cold after sunset, but a good time was had by all.

    General Update

We are setting course for the MD Renaissance Fair this coming Sunday, for the final day of the fair, and the infamous 'day of wrong'. The weather looks to be clear but cool so, if you're planning to join us, dress warm and wrong.

Meanwhile, here is picture of our granddaughter being cute.

    PA Renaissance Festival

We spent the whole weekend at the PA fair this past weekend. Jess and Ricky joined us for Saturday. Gina and I got a room at a local Hotel and stayed for both days.  We picked up some new costume pieces and much needed supplies for the rest of the year. Here are a couple of shots in no particular order.

Gina looking quite the sexy pirate.

Here is my new friend Alisa of the Silk Road Gypsies who tells me she has no formal training.
If you ever see them play, you will understand my confusion on this point.

First some drinking and then some pillaging with the crew of The Intruder.

    Don't ask.

Pirate Weekend in MD in Danger

Sensors indicate the weather in Crownsville, Md is going from bad to worse for this weekend.
As you all know, I really look forward to this every year, but I don't know about this.
We may need to change course to Pa, or call the whole thing off.
    Updates as they happen.
I just checked and all three locations NY, PA and MD look like a washout for this weekend.

I'll keep you posted from here.

That's it, we're calling it off.
    We're looking into next weekend.

    More pix

Here are two more I meant to post earlier from our NY trip:

    Recent Pictures

Here are a few shots from our recent outing to the PA Renaissance fair.
Perfect weather, good food and excellent drink. (They have their own brewery!)
The price however at $24.00 per person, and that's with a "discount" coupon normally it's $28.00, was a bit too high for our taste.
    Next stop Maryland Renaissance Fair.

    Finding Jesus.

Good news everyone, I found Jesus!
Turns out he's been back for awhile now and has been hanging out at the Maryland Renaissance Festival.
    He looked good.
I spoke with him a bit and he was nice.
He says he likes the fair and that he just feels more comfortable hanging out there. I asked him about the world of today and he said that it was cool but that people should take more responsibility for themselves and their actions.
Also he suggest that everyone should read more Science Fiction.
I asked him about some of the things people have done in his name over the last 2000 plus years and he was somber.
He said, "Listen, did you ever play telephone? You know, where everyone stands in a circle and the first person whispers a message to the next person and the next person whispers it to the person after them, and so on, passing it along, and then you see how the message has changed by the time it reaches the last person?"
    I said, "sure".
"Well" he said, "try playing that over two thousand years, and half a dozen languages, and see what you get."
I said that I saw his point.
Then he went off to drink some more.

Scenes from our lost Pirate Weekend

From the log of the 'Intruder' - diary of Captain Mad Wolf - The Pirate:
    Weather clear.

This past weekend Bloody Mary and I made port in Maryland. We arranged quarters land side for both days so that nothing would get in the way of our plundering and bawdy good times. Sadly, some the crew had been swept off course on the last night, but they managed to make it back to the ship, so we pressed on without them.

We shared our first day with friends and drink. We kept the blood spill'n to a minimum so as not to get chased off before the first night.

    Ah, Pirate love.

The second day we were in high spirits and met up with even more friends

Ah, the very spirit of the day.

Drinks and songs at one of the local taverns.

This here be the very king of the port. First we were gonna hold him for ransom. Then we thought to just kill him outright, keep his rings and sell his clothes to cover our bar tab. In the end, he turned out to be so merry a fellow, we shared some laughs and some drink and let him go.
    "Save the King!"

I can't remember clearly who some of these scurvy dogs are, I know Mary of course and there's Bonny Kate back there, and . . . ah . . . that other lass was named Mellisa, I think,
She weren't much of a talker, as I recall.
But clearly we were well in our cups, and having a grand time of it.

I'd like to tell you more or show you more pictures, what with all the hot wenches, the lip fencing, the seductive food eating contest, Mad Mike the Emu Lover and other saucy stories,
but alas, we all took a solemn oath -
    "What happens at Pirate Weekend,
    stays at Pirate Weekend!"

    Lakewood Renaissance '07

Just a couple of quick pictures here.

We took the grand kids on Saturday.
    They had a great time
but they wore us out pretty quickly.

On Sunday though we went back for more and stopped in for some shopping.

Next weekend we're headed to Maryland Renaissance Festival for
    Pirate weekend.
