Interesting to a degree, but I'm sure it will lead to nowhere, as far as character development goes(not one of Abrams' strong points). I'm still not looking forward to this in the slightest.
Are you referring to the general disrespect for the captain? I think that scene needs to end with 4 crew members conspiring to have Spock relieved of duty.
What's with the random lens-flair shining in our eyes? That's going to get really annoying really fast.
